  Kevlar developed by Dupont. The yarn also possesses excellent static and dynamic fatigue resistance as well as a negative coefficient of expansion unlike other polymers such as PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) which expands at several times the rate of metals. The yarn is pre-lubricated with a combination of colloidal PTFE and a silicone lubricant ( dimethylsiloxane ).
